Of all the holidays, Valentine’s is probably my fave. It’s the one holiday when you can focus solely on sharing, caring …and, of course, chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate.

It’s also a lovely excuse to be creatively crafty, like by making your own Valentine’s Day cards. Who needs store-bought when you can just as easily print out your own and string on a small toy?

DIY heart crayon Valentine’s Day cards for kids

This is a great way to use up all those broken bits and pieces of crayons.

– Preheat oven to 250 degrees
– Place broken pieces of crayon in silicone heart molds
– Bake until crayons melt (about 15-20 minutes)
– Let cool completely before popping out of the mold (do this gently as they may crack)

Simply print out, cut and attach a heart crayon through two punched holes.
