INSIDE: How to use a faux flower stem to make an easy DIY heart wreath. Easy and fast faux flower craft for home or Valentine’s Day decor.
Growing up, my mother had a house full of artificial flower arrangements in the iconic country blues and yellows. Add in a few chicken motifs and I’m sure you can see our 80s home decor.
So that could explain my affinity for the fake flower! The healthy benefits of all things fresh and green aside, you can’t exactly ‘set it and forget it’ like you can with our faux florals.
Like this flower heart wreath — made from two single flower stems. Ideal as a Valentine’s Day wreath or as part of a special gallery wall.
How to Make an Easy Faux Flower Stem Heart Wreath
Supplies:
– Large flower stem (I used a 29″ rose)
– Single flower bud stem
– Floral wire
– Scissors
Make an Easy Faux Flower Stem Heart Wreath for Valentine’s Day
Use the single flower bud stem to form into a heart shape. The best floral stems for this project are those with wire.
Once you have the heart shape, secure the ends together with floral wire (see the arrow below).
I cut some of the greenery off the rose flower stem.
Then secured two leafy sections to the heart wreath with more floral wire.
Then cut off the large rose and placed that over the bed of greens.
I used the excess floral wire (from the leaves) to secure it in place.
