INSIDE: DIY easy school teacher appreciation coffee mug gift. Thank you note idea for students to teachers.
So, I’m big on thank you notes. Does that make me old school? My mom would make us write thank you notes before we could play with the gift. Painful as a kid but the habit has stuck.
Fast forward a handful of years later and I find myself arm twisting my own daughter to write a sweet and short note to her 2nd grade teacher as we quickly wrap up the school year.
An appreciative note is a “latte” better in a DIY school teacher coffee mug, don’t you think?

How to Make Teacher Thank You Coffee Mug
If you child is cooperative and eager to put their thoughts about their teacher into a couple of sentences, this is easily an A+ project. Mine wasn’t quite excited about this extra credit work!
Supplies:
– DIY travel mugs
– Ruler tape
– Lined school paper, or index card
– Cardstock
– Glue stick
Easy School Teacher Gift and Thank You Note Idea
Remove the paper liner from the travel coffee mug and lay it flat.
Apply strips of the ruler tape to the paper inlay. Trim the access ruler washi tape.
Cut an iconic teacher’s red apple out of cardstock.
Don’t want to sketch one out? Print this FREE template instead.
This took a little arm twisting (go figure my daughter didn’t want to sit down and “work” on mom’s crafty project right after school!) but have your kiddo write their teacher a Thank You for Teaching Me note on a piece of lined paper or an index card.
Glue the Thank You note and the cardstock apple onto the paper inlay.
Re-insert into the travel coffee mug.

Fill the travel coffee mug with an assortment of instant coffees or teas your teacher may like best.
Or, gift with pretty cut flowers and attach the lid with a pretty ribbon bow.
