INSIDE: Make a cute and sweet kids tiered heart cake card box holder for Valentine’s Day. DIY easy, creative card holder for kids Valentine’s.
Valentine’s Day is a LOVE-ly excuse to be crafty! Case in point, the iconic Valentine’s Day card box. Sure, the decorated shoe box does the job just fine to bring home those sweet love notes; but what about a tiered wedding cake Valentine’s Day card holder? Oh, yes.
Surprisingly easier to make than it sounds, it’s a great reason to empty out a cardboard box of random collectibles in the garage or fish pieces out of the recycling bin.
I love seeing all the kids walking into school with their homemade Valentine’s Day card boxes. Add this tiered heart-filled beauty to the loving mix!

how to make a kids wedding cake valentine’s day card box
Cut a long rectangular strip from cardboard. This will form the base of your cake. The longer the strip, the larger the cardboard cake box.
Use an Xacto knife to score the cardboard.
Form into a circular shape and secure with clear packing tape.
Cut TWO circles from another piece of cardboard. One circle will go underneath scored strip. This will be the bottom of the cake box. Secure with tape.
The second circle will go on top of scored strip. Cut out a smaller opening. Secure with tape.
You have just made the bottom of the Valentine’s Day cake box! Cover it with white cardstock paper. Cut slits around the top of the box opening for easier glueing.
Cut and score another rectangular strip of cardboard. Insert it into the cake bottom and secure with tape.
Add a cardboard top with an opening. Cover this second cake tier with white cardstock paper.
how to make a large cake valentine’s day card box
Cover the Valentine’s Day wedding cake box with various sized paper hearts made from scrapbook paper. Large heart stickers would work too!
Nestle the top tier of the Valentine cake into the larger bottom cake.
Add some pipe cleaner “accessories” to the top of the Valentine’s Day cake box.
