All kids love to be woken up early on a Sunday morning, loaded into the car and taken across town to an outdoor vintage flea market, don’t they?! Because mine don’t, LOL!

Once a month, while the weather is kind to us Arizonans, we take bribe the kids with donuts while mom and dad tour the empty lot turned pop-up flea market. Fun for all involved!

And it was on one such early mornings that I found this awesome oversized vintage letter. For $2. And it became this cool monogram wall planter…

How to Make Fun Vintage Letter Succulent Planter

Vertical planters are a great way to dress up an otherwise dull, boring wall. Like this shower caddy turned wall planter.

Supplies:
– Large vintage sign letter (this is comparable to what I used)
– Chicken wire
Floral foam blocks
Faux succulents

Hang the letter onto the wall. Since this was going into brick, use drill with masonry drill bits.

Insert floral foam blocks into letter.

Insert floral foam blocks into salvage letter and cover with chicken wire before inserting faux succulents for DIY vertical planter.

Place chicken wire over the foam.

Insert many (lots and lots) assorted succulents. Start with the biggest ones, placed sporadically throughout letter. Place smaller succulents to fill in the gaps.
