What we measure
We collect basic, first-party visit statistics to see which pages are useful: the page viewed, the referring site, your browser, device type and approximate location (derived from your IP address and not stored by us), how far you scroll, and whether you click a link to a retailer. The data is sent through our own server to Amplitude, an analytics service, in its EU data center.
We don't use cookies or local storage for this. A random visit ID lives in your browser's session storage and disappears when you close the tab. We don't build profiles across sites and don't sell data.
Retailer links
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer (for example Amazon or Eartheasy) may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase to us. Their privacy policies apply on their sites.
Hosting
Our host keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, requested URL, time) for security and reliability.
