For most people the best Palram greenhouse is the Mythos: 4 mm twin-wall panels all round, an aluminum frame on a steel base, 56 mph / 15.4 lb/sq ft ratings and 4.3/5 on 704 Wayfair reviews. Choose the Hybrid (twin-wall roof, clear walls) for seed starting and mild climates, the Glory (10 mm twin-wall, auto vent) for heated year-round growing, and the Bella for snowy areas. Be cautious with the Balance and Snap & Grow, which score lowest at US retailers. For gazebo-style garden rooms, the Americana, Oasis and Chalet are sold at Eartheasy.

Palram-Canopia makes more greenhouse lines than any other hobby brand, and the names don't tell you much. Mythos, Hybrid and Harmony are the same greenhouse with different panels. Balance, Essence and Glory look alike but differ in panel thickness. Then there's a resin-frame family, a cedar line and half a dozen garden-room styles. This page puts every current line side by side so you can pick the right one, and buy it where it's actually in stock.
Specs come from Canopia's spec sheets and retailer listings; owner ratings come from US retailers, with counts. We have not built these kits ourselves. How we research.
Palram greenhouse lines at a glance
Palram's range falls into five families. The glazing (panel type) is the biggest difference between lines, so it's the first column.

"Not in our data" means we couldn't find a published figure on the spec sources we read, not that the kit has none. Palram also lists the Aria (10x10 to 10x20, 10-year warranty), which we haven't covered here yet.
Twin-wall, hybrid or clear: what the glazing means
Clear walls let in 90%+ of light. Twin-wall diffuses light (about 70-82%) and prevents scorch, and Canopia says it gives "twice the heat retention of single layer panels". Hybrid glazing is Palram's compromise: a diffused twin-wall roof over clear walls. Rule of thumb: clear or hybrid for spring seed starting and mild winters, twin-wall all round (Mythos, Essence, Bella, Glory) for spring-to-fall growing in cold areas or any heating.
The best Palram greenhouses by line
Palram Mythos 6x8
The Mythos is Palram's best all-rounder for most backyards. Every panel is 4 mm twin-wall, the frame is aluminum on a galvanized steel base, and it's rated for 56 mph and 15.4 lb/sq ft with a 5-year warranty. Owners rate it 4.3/5 on 704 Wayfair reviews. The most-linked owner write-up (2014) describes a 6x8 damaged by gusts of about 30 mph, which the owner blamed on friction-held bolts and weak diagonal straps and fixed with locknuts and aluminum angle bracing. Do the same if your site is exposed.

Wayfair lists 50 mph wind and 20 lb/sq ft snow, so it holds more snow than the 15 psf lines but has a lower wind figure. Owner ratings are high (4.9/5 at Walmart on the 8x8, 4.2/5 on 35 Wayfair reviews for the 8x12), and Canopia cites a Better Homes & Gardens "Best Splurge Greenhouse Kit of 2024" award.

Which Palram greenhouse should you buy?
- Small yard, first greenhouse, cool climate: Mythos 6x8 or 6x10. Our 6x8 greenhouse guide shows what fits.
- Small yard, mostly seed starting or a mild climate: Hybrid 6x8.
- Want an 8-ft-wide walk-in on a budget: Balance, but anchor and seal it well, or Essence if you can find it in stock.
- Snow country: Bella or Glory. For heavier published ratings outside Palram, see the Riverstone and Janco kits in our 8x10 greenhouse guide.
- Heated, four-season growing: Glory, for its 10 mm panels and auto vent.
- Against a wall: Lean To Grow, but note its 47 mph rating, the lowest Palram publishes. Compare options in our lean-to greenhouse kits roundup.
- A garden room to sit in: Americana, Oasis, Chalet, Victory Orangery or Triomphe.
- Want wood: Natura cedar (new, no reviews yet), or see our Yardistry review and wooden greenhouse kits.

Eartheasy is our main affiliate retailer and doesn't carry Hybrid, Harmony, Balance, Glory or Snap & Grow. When we point to those lines, it's because they're the right fit, not because we earn on them.
Palram's own site shows higher star ratings than US retailers for the same products (Snap & Grow 4.84 on Canopia vs 3.0 at Lowe's; Balance 4.42 vs 3.4 at Costco). Weigh the retailer reviews more heavily, and read the low ones for patterns.
Known Palram problems and how to avoid them
- Wind on light frames. The 6-ft lines can rack and lose panels in gusts if bolts loosen. Fixes owners use: locknuts in place of friction-held nuts, aluminum angle bracing on the diagonals, and a base anchored to timber or concrete.
- Panels on clip-in lines. Third-party summaries for Balance and Snap & Grow mention panels coming loose in wind. We couldn't verify those sources directly, but the advice is the same: anchor, brace and seal.
- Small doors on 6-ft models. The 1'10" x 5'4" opening is tight for tall people and for carrying in big pots.
- Overheating. Most lines have one or two manual vents. Add automatic openers; see greenhouse fans and vent openers.
- Anchoring and the warranty. Canopia makes anchoring a warranty condition, so build a proper base: our greenhouse foundation guide walks through it.
Comparing Palram with other aluminum brands? Our polycarbonate greenhouse kits roundup puts Palram next to Riverstone, Exaco, Juliana and Solexx.
Frequently asked questions
Are Palram greenhouses good?
They're the most widely sold hobby greenhouses in the US, with published wind and snow ratings (mostly 56 mph and about 15 lb/sq ft) and 5-year warranties. Owner ratings vary a lot by line: the Mythos rates 4.3/5 on 704 Wayfair reviews, while the Balance gets 3.4/5 on 550 Costco reviews.
What is the difference between Palram Mythos, Hybrid and Harmony?
They share the same 6-ft-wide frame, door and sizes. Mythos has 4 mm twin-wall panels all round (warmest). Hybrid has a twin-wall roof with clear walls (brighter). Harmony has clear single-wall panels all round (brightest, coldest).
Is Palram the same as Canopia?
Yes. Canopia by Palram is the brand name Palram uses for its garden products, so you'll see the same greenhouses listed as Palram, Canopia or Palram-Canopia.
Which Palram greenhouse is best for snow?
Glory (10 mm twin-wall, listed at 20 lb/sq ft on Wayfair) and Bella (6 mm twin-wall with a bell-shaped roof designed to shed snow). Most other lines are rated around 15 lb/sq ft.
Where can I buy Palram greenhouses?
Eartheasy sells the Mythos, Oasis, Chalet, Americana and Triomphe. Costco carries Balance, Americana, Oasis, Victory Orangery and Triomphe. Wayfair has Mythos, Hybrid and Glory, and Walmart lists Snap & Grow, Glory, Bella and Prestige. Amazon now has almost no Palram kits, mostly accessories.
Do Palram greenhouses need a foundation?
They need a level, solid base they can be anchored to. Most kits include a galvanized steel base, but Palram makes anchoring a warranty condition, so plan a timber frame, pavers or a slab.
